Hi new here I have retrobat running but I have an lcd screen connected via hdmi to my pc is there anyway to get the marquee working. I also have a pie 4 sitting round that I can connect to the lcd.
Retrobat does not have built in marquee support so will not work over HDMI. Pixelcade LED connects over USB and Pixelcade LCD connects over your network (WiFi or Etherent) . If you want to go LCD over HDMI though, BigBox is a good choice for a front end which does not built in marquee support.
@pixelcade-admin im on retrobat V5 now it seems most things are working great. You may have mentioned it but when I select a console game it will say "now playing mario" then show just the NES logo instead of the game logo. But when scrolling through the games list the game logos are correct. That could be by design or fixed later?
My main issue is sega genesis or "mega drive" on V5 no matter what game in looking at or select it only shows "MD" on the pixel display.
@retrowolfe so when scrolling through games, the correct logo is coming but when launching an actual game, you're getting the generic console marquee vs. the game specific marquee? is that right? so what I would do is check the pixeweb.log file, let's see what is showing there when you do this and go from there

on megadrive, there is no artwork for that one, you can see what artwork is there and not there from the artwork repo , see here https://github.com/alinke/pixelcade
for model2 and model3, there is artwork for those but there was not a console mapping entry as the artwork folder is sega_model_3 for example. I made that entry now though so you can run the artwork updater again and you should get that. The artwork there though probably is auto converted and not very good
on megadrive artwork, what you could do is check and see if the games there are similiar to the genesis artwork (game / rom names may be different though), check the pixelweb.log file there and then you can add what you like to the megadrive folder and rename as necessary. If you do that, let me know and I will add whatever changes you make to the main artwork repo for others too.
I can't see in the game launch in the log what is happening so do a session where you only launch a game and post the log here
@pixelcade-admin I can try to rename files. Here is an example of launching 10 yard fight on nes. tTe artwork is correct when scrolling through the list of games until the game is launched then the default Nintendo logo shows instead of the game marquee art.

@pixelcade-admin I did a fresh install of the new retrobat version 5.2.0 and pixelcade is not working. I tried doing a fresh pixelcade install as well. My marquee just says arcade and thats it. (No items in queue at start up) is what the listener says.
