i noticed that it only happens with MAME-games
go ahead and attach your custom.sh file here but basically you just need to call autostart.sh from there, custom.sh starts automatically when batocera boots up.
On the the marquees, look in the file pixelweb.log which is located in the pixelcade folder, that will tell you what is happening and what files pixelcade is looking for and in general what is happening.
Are you using a particular image or this is a Batocera vanilla install from scratch?
i noticed that it only happens with MAME-games
when that happens, post the pixelweb.log , it could be a mapping thing. There is a file called console.csv which can be used to fix that (if that's the issue), some info here https://pixelcade.org/customizing/
@pixelcade-admin : thank you! i managed to fix this by put another directory in de pixelcade directory. Pixelcade was looking for a 'rom' directory. Maybe its got to do because in the mame directory the games where in a subdir rom
i still don't managed to get the autostart.sh to work. I attached a log from pixelweb.log. I read something about serialports not defined and a possible fix. Is that the solution maybe? this is al new to me so sorry if i don't understand it completely
INFO:Pixelcade Listener (pixelweb) Version 4.4.5
INFO:PIXEL resolution found in settings.ini: resolution=128x32
INFO:Pixelcade HOME DIRECTORY: /userdata/system/pixelcade/
INFO:The default port has not been changed, all ports will be scanned to detect your PIXEL board
To save time, edit settings.ini in the same directory as this jar or .exe and specify the port
and connect to PIXEL over each one.
Examples: port=COM7 for Windows, port=/dev/tty.usbmodemFA131 for Mac, and port=/dev/ACM0 for Raspberry Pi
INFO:ioio.SerialPorts not defined.
Will attempt to enumerate all possible ports (slow) and connect to PIXEL over each one.
To fix, add the -Dioio.SerialPorts=xyz argument to the java command line, where xyz is a colon-separated list of port identifiers, e.g. COM1:COM2. for Windows or /dev/tty.usbmodem1411 on Mac OSX
i did a clean install of batocera and now it works! maybe it had something to do with the installation of the on off button. Also i changed the IP-adress of my RP4.
And i also install the on off button with led. Pixelcade still working
great, thanks for letting me know
I am trying to ssh into pixelcade from linux and it keeps error in me out after 19seconds saying (6) dns url error ?
How can I update and get this running in v35 batocera
Please help
Tomathon
@tomathon have not seen that before, paste the full output in here and also you could also try manually copying the installer script to your Pi and then running it locally
https://github.com/alinke/pixelcade-linux/blob/main/installer-scripts/setup-batocera.sh
ah ok, that probably explains it then, this script has not been tested on PC linux. I don't have the time right now to work that so what i'd recommend is go through the installer and then manually go through the steps / make tweaks accordingly that are needed on the PC side
