I have the bitpixel hv attached to my atgames pinball. I've installed everything from the site and it works great while using pinball fx 3. However when I launch pinup popper and try to start a game the whole system freezes but if I go to task manager end the pinup popper task and restart the program it works fine after that.
not sure this is related to pixelcade but to test whether it is, edit your dmddevice.ini file and turn off pixelcade and sending pinup frames in that file and then restart
@pixelcade-admin ok thanks I'll give that a shot, only reason why I assume it is pixecade software is because it didn't do this before I installed the software.
Ok so I changed the dmdevice back to false and it made no difference but then I uninstalled the pixelcade dmd app and it fixed it, no more freezing when launching a table. Reinstalled the pixelcade app and right back to the same thing completely freezes when launching a table.
not able to re-create this issue so here's what I suggest to try:
see the "What the Pixelcade PinUp Popper Installer Does" section here for reference on what the installer does, you could try undoing some of those steps and see where the culprit is.
https://pixelcade.org/pindmd-guide/
I would try first doing the Pixelcade DMD install and choose not to install Freezy DMD extensions, assuming your PinUp popper installation already has freezy installed, maybe there is some version conflict there?
@pixelcade-admin ok I'll give this a shot, someone mentioned to me a manual update that freezy needed but I would assume everyone would talk about this if that was my issue.
not aware about a manual update for freezy that but it's worth looking into/trying also
@pixelcade-admin Dude!!! It worked unchecked install freezy and the problem went away. Thanks again for your help! Only problem now is I have these weird small screens on the bottom of my playfield that weren't there before https://imgur.com/a/kGDbAhx
ah good to know! so there must be a version conflict with the different freezy versions
try turning off virtual dmd in dmddevice.ini or in vpinmame setup
@pixelcade-admin once again dude I can't thank you enough! Changed the ini to false and boom its gone. Thanks for helping absolute noobs like myself to figure this stuff out you're awesome!
great! glad to hear that
