Hi there,

I'm building my first arcade cabinet and thought adding an LED marquee would be awesome. But I'm on a relatively tight budget (aren't we all...) and bought the PIXEL LED ART Maker's Kit and ordered a couple of 64x32 P3 LED panels from china. Now, as luck would have it, when the panels arrived I noticed that they use the FM6126A chipset and, of course, don't work.

However, I've been reading online forums and it seems that people who develop tools to connect led panels to RPis using GPIOs have been able to overcome the problem by adjusting some settings. Has anyone had similar success with the PIXEL board and FM6126A panels?

It would be amazing if someone could develop a similar fix!

thanks!

I saw those as well , I believe some additional init strings that need to be sent . Sorry though , don’t have any plans to add support for pixel (not that someone else couldn’t) . As a best practice when ordering from China , always ask in the order notes and request the chipset , I have had success every time when doing that . If you are US based , I can sell you some compatible P3 panels at my cost if you like plus shipping to get you going here. Shoot me a note to al [at] ledpixelart.com if you want to do that

Thanks so much for your quick reply.

I’m in Canada, does that work too? Please let me know and I’ll email you.
