I’ve seen where people will have a pixelcade (I have the bitpixel version) just plugged in and not connected to anything but it rotates images and animations on its own. How can I do this? I am upgrading to an LCD marquee and want to use the old LED one for a wall display.

Thanks in advance.

you'll want to create one large GIF of your favorite animations and images and then write it using this https://pixelcade.org/customizing/

also if you are on Android, you can add a CSR 4.0 Bluetooth dongle and control BitPixel via Bluetooth form this Android app https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.ledpixelart.piledriver&hl=en_US&gl=US . If you do that, don't forget to move the toggle switch on the Pixelcade board away from the USB connector

So no way to have it randomly cycle through the images it has onboard?
🙁

I thought I saw someone on here say theirs was doing that for some reason when not connected to anything.

the way Pixelcade works is there is one image or animation that will loop while it's not connected to the arcade front end. So unfortunately there is no way for it to cycle through random images in stand alone mode as it's just one big GIF. It would be possible though to do random images while connected to a host that is just running the Pixelcade listener and then send API calls to Pixelcade that pull up random images https://pixelcade.org/api
