Privacy Policy
Last updated: September 30, 2026
Open Gadgets LLC ("Pixelcade," "we," "us," or "our") makes Pixelcade arcade display products. This Privacy Policy covers:
- our website, pixelcade.org, including our online store (the "Site"), and
- all Pixelcade apps and software, including our mobile apps on Google Play and the App Store (such as Pixelcade Sidekick) and the Pixelcade software that runs on your computer or arcade cabinet (together, the "Apps").
Information We Collect
Information you give us
When you place an order, register a product, or contact us for support, we collect:
- your name and shipping address
- your email address
- your phone number (if you give it for shipping)
- order details and purchase history
- anything you include in a support request
Payment information
We do not store your credit card or payment details. Our payment processor (PayPal) handles all payments. We only receive confirmation of the payment and basic order information, such as your name and shipping address.
Information collected automatically on the Site
When you visit the Site, we may automatically collect your IP address, browser type and version, the pages you visit and how long you spend on them, the website that referred you, and device information. We collect this through cookies and similar technologies.
Information in our Apps
Our Apps are designed to work without collecting personal information:
- No accounts, ads or tracking. Our Apps do not require an account, and they do not include advertising, analytics or third-party tracking.
- No sensitive device data. Our Apps do not access your location, contacts, photos, camera, microphone or personal files.
- Local network. Our Apps mainly talk to Pixelcade devices on your own local network, and find them using standard local discovery (such as mDNS/Bonjour). This traffic stays on your network and is not sent to us.
- Settings stay on your device. Our Apps store their settings on your device. This includes the devices you have paired with, their local network addresses, and random identifiers the App creates so your Pixelcade devices can tell each other apart. These identifiers are not linked to you or to your device's hardware IDs. You can delete them at any time by clearing the App's data or uninstalling the App.
- Updates and artwork. Some Apps download software updates, firmware and game artwork from our servers or from public code hosting services such as GitHub. Like any internet request, these servers can see your IP address. We do not use it to identify you.
- Services you choose to connect. Some Apps let you connect third-party services, such as game artwork databases. Those features only send information to the service you set up, and that service's own privacy policy applies. Account details you enter for those services are stored on your device and are not sent to us.
Our Apps only request the device permissions they need to work. For example, network permissions are used to find and connect to Pixelcade devices.
How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- process and ship your orders and send tracking information
- send order confirmations and shipping updates
- provide customer support and warranty service
- deliver software, firmware and artwork updates

Sharing Your Information
We share your information only as needed to run our business and deliver your order:
- Payment processor (PayPal), to process your payment. Your use of PayPal is covered by PayPal's Privacy Policy.
- Shipping carriers (USPS, UPS, FedEx, DHL or others), to deliver your order.
- Analytics providers, to understand how the Site is used (in anonymized or combined form).
- Legal reasons, when required by law or to protect our rights.
We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information.
Cookies
The Site uses cookies to remember items in your shopping cart, understand how the Site is used, and improve its performance. You can control cookies in your browser settings. Turning off cookies may affect some Site features. Our Apps do not use cookies for tracking.
Data Retention and Deletion
We keep order information as long as we need it to fulfill your order, provide support and warranty service, and meet legal and tax requirements. Order records are generally kept for 7 years for tax and legal purposes, then deleted. Support emails are kept as long as needed to help you and are then deleted.
Our Apps do not send personal information to us, so we hold no App data about you. Information stored by our Apps stays on your device. You can delete it at any time by clearing the App's data in your device settings or by uninstalling the App.
To ask us to delete the personal information we hold about you (for example, your order or support history), email support@pixelcade.org. We will delete it within 30 days, except for records we must keep by law.
Data Security
We protect your information with reasonable technical and organizational measures:
- The Site uses encrypted connections (HTTPS) for all pages, including checkout.
- Payments are handled by PayPal. Card details never reach our servers.
- Access to order and customer information is limited to the people who need it to fulfill orders and provide support.
- Information stored by our Apps stays on your device, under your control.
No method of sending or storing data is completely secure, but we work to protect your information and will notify you as required by law if a breach affects it.
