Pixelcade LCD 2nd Generation Firmware Update
IMPORTANT: Do not run this on Gen3, this is only for Gen2.
Latest Version: 2.9.0.41
You can check your current LCD firmware version using the Pixelcade iOS app or from the Windows PC “Pixelcade LCD Configuration” utility.
First ensure you have the latest Pixelcade client software for Windows or for Raspberry Pi.
Note that this firmware upgrade will only work on 2nd generation Pixelcade LCDs and will not work on 1st generation Pixelcade LCD that have a Raspberry Pi based controller board.
To upgrade your Pixelcade LCD Firmware:
Windows
Download and run this installer from your Arcade PC or Pi and it will upgrade your Pixelcade LCD firmware to the latest version. Note that you must install this in the same folder as your existing Pixelcade installation.
Raspberry Pi
Download and save to your Pixelcade folder and then run from a command prompt on your Pi:
cd /home/pi/pixelcade
java -jar pixelcade-lcd-fwudpate.jar

- Certain marquees (ex. Wizard of Wor) do not play correctly

- Added Image Marquees Only Mode which if enabled, Pixelcade LCD will only play image marquees and no video snaps or animations will display.
- If you also have Pixelcade LED, scrolling text will only display on Pixelcade LED and will no longer scroll also on Pixelcade LCD.
Open Known Issues:
- If connecting Pixelcade LCD over WiFi , your WiFi SSID or Password cannot have any spaces.
- The Pixelcade LCD Uploaders may not function correctly from your Arcade windows PC but work from a separate PC on your network.
